U.S. Air Force projects larger F-35 role in expanded fighter fleet of 1,509 combat-coded aircraft by 2035
The F-35A could account for roughly 40% of the U.S. Air Force’s fighter fleet by 2035, up from about 30% today, according to estimates outlined by Lt. Gen. David Tabor.
